Exploring new trails is the goal and today's outing will take us to the Bamboo forest, this terra-firme habitat is unique for the exclusive set of birds. The specialization and the range-restricted to this habitat will be our topic; and targets will be Manu Antbird,White-lined Antbirds,Goeldi's Antbird,Bamboo Antshrike,Striated Antbird,Dot-winged Antwren,Yellow-breasted Bamboo Antbird, lhering's Antwren,Ornate (Bamboo) Antwren,Rufous-breasted Piculet, Rufous-headed Woodpecker, Yellow-billed Nunbird,Rufous-capped Nunlet,White-cheeked Tody-tyrant, Flammulated Pygmy-tyrant, and Long-crested Pygmy-tyrant. However, there is plenty of food for mammals like White-lipped Peccaries, Tapirs, Agouties, and Monkeys. We will focus on birds and the leader will work hard to find an unusual group of birds called the Obligated Army Ant-follower. Different species of birds that follow army ants, these swarms of ants move on the forest floor searching, predating and flushing out all kinds of insects, this is described as "The attack of the Marabuntas . So,the group of birds benefits from the ants and learns to move only when the ants are inactivity, explaining the fragility of this symbiotic relationship.we will put some effort to see Black-Spotted Bare-eyed,White-throated Antbird,White-chinned woodcreeper and Plain-brown Woodcreeper,Ringed Antpipit, Chestnut-tailed Antbird,Black-faced Antbird,White-throated Tinamou,Scale-backed Antbird,White-browed Antbird, and many others that take advantage by following the ants.
