With almost 400 acres the Rentschler Forest Preserve, include half-mile frontage along the Great Miami River, a prehistoric Indian earthwork, a reconstructed wetland and ample opportunities for a wide variety of outdoor recreation activities. Long hiking trails through old forest and open woodland are found here. This is part of the Great Miami River Recreation Trail. This forest has not been much explore, Ebird just recently recognize this location a important hotspot for birds.

None of the walks are strenuous, but you should be able to walk up to 3.5 miles along trails, in flat covered forest and open country. Bring your own binoculars, camera, rain coat, sunblock and mosquito repellent. We will do the rest! We will provide more background on what to bring and what to expect on this trip when you book. Our targets will depend on the season and we will look for Pileated Woodpecker, Bald Eagle, Eastern Bluebird, Brown Thrasher, Acadian Flycatcher, Eastern Phoebe, Least Grebe, Blue Jay, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, and more. key species to ensure you get the most from your time in the field. They are a great ways of exploring the surrounding and will probably take you to areas you might not venture to on your own. An exciting work review on the checklist is also included.

Richard Amable is a senior tour guide born in Peru, He follows the career in ecotourism, birding, and natural history of the Neotropics and North America also has been involved in nature and birding since a young age doing many volunteering works in projects of wildlife research and educational programs. He is an expert on parrots. He has the knowledge and understanding of the nature, and culture of many geographic regions in South America, Central America, and North America such as Perú, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Panama, and United States. In 2004. He founded the Jacamar Club – Perú, a birding group from Madre de Dios department in Perú. In 2014 Richard become a menber of the board of trusty for the Audubon Society of Ohio. He has stated, “My commitment is to learn from all natural regions and get to see all of the animals is possible. With that knowledge, I will teach and share my passion with others to help strategists for conservation.
